Site Settings

Most of the general options for your site are available in the Settings tab in the left panel. From here, you can backup your site, edit your site's SEO and more.

Site Icons

Home screen icons, share icons, favicons, and startup images allow you to customize, brand, and polish your user's experience on the site and make it easier for a user to pick your site out from a bunch of tabs or links on their home screen. For more information, see Site Icons.

Site URL

The site URL is how visitors see your site. You are assigned a default, public URL until you decide to add your own domain.

By default, when the site is unpublished, the settings are mostly grayed out. Publish your site to reveal more settings, such as the ability to edit the site URL.

Preview

This preview shows your site, including unpublished changes, as it appears in the editor. Site preview is a great way to share your work with others and preview your site on multiple devices before launching.

To get the site URL for sharing, click Copy next to the preview URL

Unpublish Site

When you unpublish a site, it is no longer visible online and cannot be accessed by users until it is republished. Unpublishing does not affect your site billing subscription.

Using Custom Fonts With Snapps

Custom fonts are a great way to make your site truly unique. You can pick a font that matches your logo, a font featured on your business cards and press materials, or creative fonts that match the niche of your site. Snapps's built-in collection of fonts, along with those provided by the Google Fonts library, gives you a wide range of choices to match various site designs. If these are not enough, follow the guide below for embedding custom fonts in sites.

Disclaimer: This guide relies on a third-party tool, not one built by Snapps. Also, note that @font-face technology falls under custom code. We cannot guarantee that the font you choose supports web embedding, that the files you receive from the font foundry are ready-to-use or that the code you edit is in the correct format.

Although these issues rarely result in causing any problems with editing your site, please make sure to backup your site before you do any custom code changes. You can review our policy regarding custom code here.

Prepare Custom Font Files

Custom fonts may come in several formats, the most popular ones being .otf, .ttf, .woff, .svg, and .eot. In order to use your font, you need to make sure you own the .ttf, .eot and .svg files.

Header and Expandable Menu

You can add an expandable menu on your desktop and tablet sites, making it easy to create modern sites that have great design flexibility. Choose from several expandable menu layouts, and customize them as you like, adding widgets, rows, and columns.

The expandable menu layout for mobile offers more customizations and a way to display widgets in the header and a menu that is always visible.

You can change the layout of the header to a predefined layout that includes buttons, click to call, store cart, social icons, and more. You can add any widget to the expandable menu from the widgets panel.

Desktop and Tablet

Select the Expandable Menu Layout

To select an expandable menu layout for your site:

In the left panel, click Design.
Click Site Layout.
In the Desktop section, select Expandable menu layout.
In the Tablet section, select the layout on the left.

After selecting the expandable menu layout, a hamburger icon displays in your site header. Click the hamburger icon to see the expandable menu.

To edit location of the expandable menu in the header:

Hover over the header, click Header, and then select Edit Design.
In the Layout section, click Left or Right.

Backup Sites

Backups save images, files, content—everything on the site is backed up except eCommerce data.

You can save copies of your site called backups. Backups allow you to restore to them at any point in time. While our system automatically creates backups each time a site is published, it is recommended to create manual backups of your site periodically instead of relying on the automated backup system in place.

In general, it is a good idea to create a backup:

* After you are satisfied with the look of your site.

After you have finished a hard-to-do task (such as importing several pictures, coding, and so on).
Before adding any custom code or doing any big changes to the site.

There is a limit of 30 automated backups and 10 manual backups that can be stored. New manual backups override earlier manual backups, thus your earliest manual backup is deleted when you create a new one. This is also the case for automatic backups; the earliest automatic backup is deleted when a new one is created. Automated backups get deleted out of the backup list often because of how it is structured. If you want to keep an automated backup, simply restore to an automated backup, and then create a manual backup from that.
