# How are affiliate commissions calculated for annual subscriptions and additional purchases during the first year?

Affiliate commissions are calculated after the referred user has completed one year of spending. The commission is 20% of the user's total eligible spending during that year, up to a maximum commission of $500 per customer.

For an annual subscription, the subscription amount contributes to the total. Additional purchases during the same one-year period—such as adding another site to the plan or purchasing add-ons—can increase the total amount used to calculate the commission.

For example, if the user spends $180 on the annual subscription and makes no other eligible purchases, the commission is 20% of $180. If the user spends more during the year, the commission is based on the combined spending. The minimum payout amount is $50, and the payout becomes eligible after the one-year spending period.
