Schema on Snapps

What is Schema?

A collaborative group of Google, Microsoft, Yandex, and Yahoo engineers created Schema (HTML Markup). It is an HTML language that gives information to search engines about how certain pieces of information should be presented in search results. If you have heard about “rich snippets” of information displayed in enhanced search results, these are made possible by schema markup.

Schema Markup allows you to boost your ranking on SERPs (Search Enging Result Page) by delivering snippets of useful and prompt information to potential website visitors. This is why it is helpful for your site’s Search Engine Optimization (SEO).

There are different schema markups for different types of information and developers and website owners can select the correct HTML markup from
schema.org and add it to their existing web pages.

For example, an
FAQ Page Schema is designed specifically for the question/answer format of FAQs, and Local Business Schema that allows the business to display their business information such as logo, business hours and phone numbers to Google and other Search Engines.

FAQ Schema

If you have FAQ on your website, you can boost your site’s ranking on search results by adding FAQ Schema to your Accordion widget.

Enabling Schema in the Accordion Widget

From the Accordion widget, simply toggle the button to Enable the FAQ Schema in widget’s Content Editor.

Once you’ve enabled FAQ Schema, the information it contains will be qualified for a rich result when a user searches these questions using Google Assistant. These two avenues make it easier for your sites to reach just the right users.

Once you’ve enable FAQ Page Schema and published the site, you can preview the results here: https://search.google.com/test/rich-results.

After enabling the FAQ Page Schema, this is how it will look like on Search Results once you've published the site.
 Note:

Google supports only one FAQ Schema per site page. If you’ve used multiple accordion widgets on the same page, make sure you enable FAQ Schema on the one with content that’s most representative of your site.

Local Business Schema

Local Business Schema helps your business to be more discoverable on search engines results, you can tell Google or other search engines about your business hours, different departments within a business, reviews for your business, and more.

Enabling Local Business Schema

Go to Content > Business Info and click Review & Enable in the banner at the top. After you've previewed the information to ensure it's accurate, you can validate with Google to see a preview of how it will look.

After generating the Schema, your site must be published for it to take effect.

Below is the required information for generating Local Business Schema:

  • Business name
  • Address
  • Geolocation (automatically generated)

Note:
Images are required for generating
rich results.

Tip:
For best Schema results, add site images that appear on your homepage to Business Images.

If you have been keeping this data in your Content Library, Schema will generate it as soon as you have activated it. To ensure it is accurate, you will be asked to review the information. Once done, you can now enable the Schema.

In addition to the required info, you can also use optional information to generate Schema. This info, which includes Email address, Phone number, Social networks, and Business hours, improves the site’s discoverability and is well worth adding. If this optional information is not yet in your Content Library, you’ll see what’s missing and can easily add it and then enable Schema and publish/republish the site.

Validate Schema

To ensure your Schema is valid, click the Validate with Google link on the Schema popup that appears. Alternatively, you can validate the site URL after the site is published using Google's Rich Results tool.
